May through November, with times to be arranged. One-hour lesson is $25 for a single player at a time, or $20 per player for a recommended two-to- three players at a time. Contact: McDermott, 552-8554 (days) or 482-4302 (nights). Football SOUTH MEDFORD SKILLS CAMP — For students grades 7-12, at South Medford High, Aug. 13-16. Held from 9 a.m.-noon for junior high and high school students and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. for high school students only. Registration is Aug. 13 at 8 a.m. in the parking lot near Spiegelberg Stadium. Cost $40 with shirt. Call 779-6388. 20th ANNUAL ALUMNI GAME — South Medford vs. Eagle Point, Aug. 17, 7:30 p.m., Eagle Stadium. Cost $5 for adults, $1 kids. Proceeds benefit each school’s athletic programs. Golf PIER 21 NIGHT TOURNAMENT — Aug. 17, 8:45 p.m., Bear Creek Golf Course. Cost $30 per player and includes greens fees, glow ball, glow stick, beverage and food. Must be 21. For info, call 776-3263. UNITED WAY TEAM CHALLENGE — Aug. 17, Eagle Point Golf Course, 9 a.m. shotgun start, with 8 to 8:30 sign-in. Cost: $90 per player or $360 per team for a four-person scramble. All proceeds go to United Way of Jackson County. Includes lunch, carts, range privileges, tee packages, prize drawings, prizes for hole in one, closest to pin, long drive and putting contest. Three handicapped flights with prizes for low gross and low net in each flight. Field limited to 36 teams. Call United Way at 773-5339. JUNIOR TOURNAMENT/SKILLS CHALLENGE — Bob Kundis Memorial Junior Stroke Play Championship and Skills Challenge. MOONLIGHT TOURNAMENT — Bear Creek Golf Course, Aug. 30, 7:45 p.m. Format is four-person scramble and is open to first 11, four-person teams to sign up. Must be 21 years of age or over. Cost is $25 per person, which includes glow balls, glow sticks, on-course beverages and prizes. Call 773- 1822. High School SOUTH HIGH ATHLETICS — Athletes and parents involved in cross-country, football, boys and girls soccer, volleyball, water polo or rally should attend a 7 p.m. meeting Aug. 14 in the school auditorium. An overview of the fall sports season will be presented, then individual sport meetings will be held. New laws regarding physicals — they are good for two years and new forms are required — are in place. Forms are available in the athletic office. For info, call 842-3685 after Aug. 5. Fall practices begin Aug. 19. Running CRATER LAKE RIM RUNS AND MARATHON — Aug. 10 at Crater Lake National Park, 7:30 a.m. start. Choose between runs of 6.7 and 13 miles and the marathon, or a 6.7-mile walk. Field limited to 500 on first-come, first-served basis. Must be at least 10 for the 6.7-mile run or walk, age 16 for the 13- mile run and age 18 for the marathon. Cost: $35 for 6.7-mile run or walk, $45 for 13-mile run or $55 for 26.2-mile marathon run. Add $20 for entries postmarked after July 27. All entries must be received by Saturday; no day-of-race registration. SOUTHERN OREGON SIZZLERS — Summer cross country series Aug. 7, 14 at 7 p.m. at Bear Creek Park in Medford. Cost is $3 for adults and $2 for under 18. Ribbons for top three in each division in the individual races (2K and 5K) and medals for overall series winners (5K). Team competition also available. Volleyball PANTHER CAMP — Aug. 12-16 at South Medford High. Directed by Panthers varsity head coach Jerry Hagstrom and open to incoming fourth- through 12th-graders.
