Pedestrian killed on South Central Avenue Tuesday Jan 2, 2018 at 8:58 AM Jan 2, 2018 at 11:40 AM A man died after being hit by a car on South Central Avenue in Medford this morning. The man was hit about 7:27 a.m. between East 12th and East 13th streets. He was pronounced dead at the scene. "Don't have a lot of information right now," said Medford police Lt. Kerry Curtis. "We've got a witness, we've got a driver, and we're going to take them back to the police department and interview them. But it sounds like the pedestrian was in the road." The victim's name has not been released. South Central Avenue was closed at East 12th Street, with traffic being detoured onto South Front Street or South Riverside Avenue. In a Facebook post, Medford police asked drivers to avoid the area for now. The Serious Accident Reconstruction Team is on scene.
