Is it legal to have campaign signs on airport grounds? — Chloe R., Central Point For many years, political candidates have placed signs along Biddle Road near the entrance to the Medford airport. Jackson County is acquiring the 6.3-acre parcel for $5.5 million and takes possession in November. The property has been owned by Medford developer Reg Breeze since 1994, when he acquired it from Cearly Enterprises. The airport bought the property to meet the growing demand for long-term parking. "We will have control of the property next time around, and it won't be available for signs," said airport Director Bern Case. In general, advertising space at the airport terminal is available to anyone as long as the content isn't lewd. "Political advertising can take place, but it can't be given away," he said. "You have to treat all entities and political parties equally." Case noted that a cannabis organization bought two spaces in the past.
