Six Rogue Valley Soccer Club teams advanced to the championship finals while five moved into the consolation finals in the Rogue Valley Soccer Cup Tournament. All championship matches are set for 10 a.m. and consolation games at 8 a.m. In U-15 girls, the RVSC Express blanked Portland's THUSC United, 3-0 setting up a showdown with the PCU Talons, also from Portland. The Express struck first with a first-half goal from Rachel Trotta but couldn't manage anymore offense for the remainder of the game. The Talons knotted the score in the second-half and held off a couple of missed Express' scoring threats for the 1-1 tie. Both teams were tied in the points standings but the Talons held the advantage in goals differential, sending them to the championship game and the Express into the consolation finals. Julie Elbon, Erin Reno and Brittany Quinowski all scored goals for the U-16 girls RVSC Blackhawks during their 3-1 win over Westside Metros of Tualatin. The Blackhawks then downed Mirage of Sacramento, 1-0, in the afternoon game to improve to 4-0 in the tournament thus far. Quinowski broke a scoreless tie with a goal from 20 yards out for the Blackhawks. Other girls RVSC teams advancing to the championship finals were U-13 Fury, U-14 Premiere Storm, U-17 United and U-19 Magic. In boys, the U-14 Rapids advanced to the championship finals.   Obituaries | Sports | Business | Classifieds |  Tempo | Prime Times | So Oregon Sites | Outdoor Journal | Subscribe | Contact | Movies | Advertise | Real Estate Showcase | Archive  | Editorials | Letters to the editor | Religion | Wake-up Call | NIE | Cyber Chef | Job Network | So Oregon Weather | WSJ Northwest | Forums | AP Wire | AP Money | F.A.Q. | Awards Ottaway Newspapers, Inc.
