The Panthers finished just 10 points out of the fourth spot behind Willows, Calif. Sprague won the tournament. Travis Harvey nearly came home with a championship at 140 pounds, but settled for second place. Juan Aguilar (103) and Chris Helman (140) each snagged third, while Jon Lang (189) finished fifth, Joe Ziegler (145) and Dan Swift (152) took sixth, and Adam Dezwart (112) and Jerry DeBoer (119) both placed eighth. Boys Basketball NORTH LAKE 46, BUTTE FALLS 42 — At Silver Lake, North Lake’s run-and-gun style and relentless rebounding led to the Skyline A League victory. Advertisement John Young had 17 points and Aaron Borlak 11 for North Lake (1-0 Sky A), which outrebounded Butte Falls 53-36. Dillon Ross, a 6-foot-2 junior, had 17 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Loggers (5-9, 1-1 Sky A), while Chris Stephenson had 12 points and six steals and Trey Stephenson added nine points. BUTTE FALLS (42) — Ross 17, C. Stephenson 12, T. Stephenson 9, Knighton 2, McLauchlan 0, White 2. Totals: 16 6-13 42. Girls Basketball NORTH LAKE 40, BUTTE FALLS 28 — At Silver Lake, the junior Carlon triplets and 35 turnovers proved to be the undoing for Butte Falls in the Skyline A League contest. Hannah Carlon paced North Lake (1-0 Sky A) with 12 points while sisters Laura and Sammy each had seven. Butte Falls (7-7, 1-1 Sky A) was led by Kyndi Sutfin’s 10 points and Elysia Rodgers had eight.
