Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend October 29, 2005 Prospect wins Skyline A title PROSPECT — Megan Shallenberger was a pivotal player as Prospect clinched its second consecutive Skyline A Southern Division volleyball title with a 25-17, 25-19, 22-25, 25-11 victory over Gilchrist Friday. The Cougars’ victory coupled with Butte Falls losing to Paisley secured the crown. "If it would have come down being tied with (Butte Falls), they would have ended up on top," said Prospect coach Marcy Gallagher, whose team’s only two division losses came to the Loggers. Shallenberger, a sophomore setter, was 23 of 24 from the service line with eight aces. She and Catherine Anderson combined for 22 assists. Prospect was sparked by senior outside Lacy Musard’s 34 kills in the match. Outside Meghan Scriven contributed six kills and four digs and the Cougars sister tandem of Candi and Caiti Lewis each registered seven kills and two blocks. Advertisement Prospect advances to the Skyline A district tournament at Eagle Point High next Saturday as a top seed. Butte Falls and Paisley made the tournament as the Southern Division No. 2 and 3 teams, respectively. PAISLEY 3, BUTTE FALLS 1 — At Paisley, senior outside Nikki Harms led Butte Falls with 11 kills and eight digs in a 25-21, 25-23, 21-25, 31-29 road loss. Despite the defeat, the Loggers (9-6, 8-3 Sky A), who complete the regular season at Triad in Klamath Falls today, can finish no worse than second in the Southern Division. Butte Falls registered 12 aces in the match. Sophomore libero Karlee Stephenson had 23 digs and junior setters Jossalyn Burg and Chelsie Stephens added nine assists each for the Loggers.
