After trailing by as much as 23 points in the first half and by 21 at halftime (54-33), senior guard Zac Olson missed a pair of potential game-tying shots in the final minute: a hoop-and-harm free throw attempt with 15 seconds left (with Evergreen leading 96-95) and a 3-pointer from the top of the arc as time expired. Senior all-star forward Mike Parker helped Evergreen (12-13, 6-5) take the big lead by scoring 20 of his team’s first 35 points en route to a game- high 36 on 14-of-17 shooting. A commanding 47-28 rebounding edge and 62 second-half points allowed SOU to chip away at the deficit. Olson made 12-of-18 shot attempts for a team-high 29 points, while freshman forward Jared Abell came off the bench for 24 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. The Raiders, who missed a potential last-second game-tying 3-pointer after trailing by as much as 25 in an 81-75 loss to Northwest Friday night, suffered their third straight home defeat.
