Guerreros have big day at GP Downs By Mail Tribune staff Oct 27, 2019 09:18 PM A A Brothers Jose Guerrero, a jockey, and Emilio Guerrero, a trainer, teamed up to win three races, including the day’s featured Holloween Handicap on Sunday at Grants Pass Downs. Riding atop Chicks Fast Farley, Jose Guerrero, Emilio’s younger brother, earned the $8,085 winner’s share by pulling away from the field in the 600-yard Halloween Handicap, the eighth race of the day. Guerrero also rode Chicks Fast Freeda to victory in the first race and Crazy Al to a win in the seventh race. Chicks Fast Freeda and Chicks Fast Farley both are owned by Jose Guerrero’s son, Diego. Jockey Kassie Guglielmino picked up three more wins Sunday and leads everybody with 23 victories. In the fifth race, she teamed up with trainer Jorge Rosales, who has a fall meet-high 11 victories. Also Sundayk, Hold That Smile became the first horse to win three times in the fall, prevailing in the day’s fifth race.
