Sabroso to shut down S. Grape three days Sabroso Co. will close down South Grape Street again today to continue expansion at its plant in Medford. The street will be shut down between 12th Street and Monroe Avenue. The work is expected to begin at 6 this morning and last through 5 p.m. Saturday. Traffic will be re-routed. Sabroso Co. produces fruit purees, puree concentrates and juice concentrates. The purees are used in baby food, fruit nectars and juices, as well as other foods. The company is working on a $6 million expansion of its plant to be completed by July. The expansion will allow the company to produce about 25 percent more of its purees during peak times. It's the first of several phases of expanding the capacity of the plant. The company hopes to eventually convert a workforce of 100 seasonal workers to full-time, be able to bottle a finished product at its Medford plant and possibly market its own separate line of Sabroso foods.
