Pam Marsh, D-Ashland, will hold an online forum called “Ready for Fire in 2022” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, that will bring together leaders and experts from local, state and federal fire agencies to share how they are planning to keep communities safe this fire season. “The discussion will include emergency notifications, evacuation planning, firefighting personnel and equipment, and coordination among fire departments, municipalities and agencies that are working to reduce risk and to protect people and property,” according to an advisory Marsh sent out Monday afternoon. Spanish and ASL interpretation will be available. Presenters include Holly Powers, Jackson County emergency manager; Mariana Ruiz-Temple, Oregon State fire marshal; Mike Shaw, chief at ODF Fire Protection; Tyler McCarty, ODF Southwest Oregon district forester; Bob Horton, Jackson County Fire Defense District chief; and Merv George, Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest supervisor.
