Genessee Place has new-old owner The original owner of Genessee Place, a popular Medford restaurant, has taken over once again. Carolyn Branham, owner of Gala Catering in Medford, has purchased the eatery at 203 Genessee St. Branham first opened the place in 1992. "We hope to open it up to its original glory," said Branham, who will begin serving lunches, banquets and special-occasion meals in mid-June. Former owner Lee Ann Isaacson, 46, and chef Michael Isaacson, 44, last week sold Branham the restaurant�s equipment, furniture and fixtures for an undisclosed sum. Both parties signed confidentiality agreements about the deal. "We just decided to retire," said Lee Ann Isaacson, who plans to work for G.J. Smith Realtors in Medford. Michael Isaacson has been named the food and beverage director at Crater Lake Lodge, park staff confirmed Thursday. He will remain on-site at the lodge through October. Michael Isaacson had recently started a subscription supper club, hoping to attract dinner diners to the restaurant. Branham does not plan to continue the club. Branham plans new decor and a new menu, including summer salads, gourmet pizzas and desserts. She�ll also offer "banquets in a box," ready-made meals to go. "We�re calling it �The New Genessee Place,� " Branham said. "Because everyone knows where it its and the signage is already in place."
