Douglas Joe Prowell, 44, and Victor Joseph Kesterson, 37, both remained in the intensive-care unit at Providence Medford Medical Center with injuries suffered in the 10:40 a.m. Sunday crash on Highway 238 near milepost 19, just west of Applegate, authorities said. Prowell was driving west in his 1995 Ford Escort when he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, according to the Oregon State Police. The car crossed the center line and struck Kesterson's 1988 Ford pickup, causing major damage to both vehicles, the OSP said. The pair were flown to Providence for treatment, the OSP said. An accident reconstruction team was called in by the OSP to help investigate, and the case remained under investigation Monday, OSP Lt. Brian Powers said. Oregon Department of Transportation crews helped clear debris from the roadway, which was re-opened at 3:50 p.m. Advertisement s Mail Tribune Home  | Local News  | Sports  | Business  | Obituaries  | Life | Opinion AP News | Archives  |  Site Map  | Community  | Classified   Copyright © 1997-2006 Mail Tribune, Inc.
