A special Mother's Day Photo by Drew Fleming Mother's Day meant something extra for Sharon Tinsen, who became a mother for the second time Sunday. By DAVID PRESZLER For Sharon Tinsen, Sunday was more than Mother's Day. It was "Baby Day." The 23-year-old mother of one become a mother of two at 3:44 p.m. Sunday when Cameron James entered the world at Rogue Valley Medical Center. "I kind of knew it would be a Mother's Day baby," said Tinsen of Medford, whose oldest son Tyler is 3. Mother's intuition? Not exactly. Tinsen was induced into labor Sunday morning. Cameron was due Friday and Tinsen and her husband, Jason, decided Mother's Day would be a good birthday. As of 8:30 p.m., Cameron was the only baby to be born this Mother's Day at Jackson County's three hospitals. Three mothers were in labor -- one each at Providence Medford Medical Center, Ashland Community Hospital and RVMC -- but only Cameron had arrived. Tinsen was ready to start her Mother's Day at 6 a.m., two hours before her appointment at RVMC. She said she was wide awake, though her husband was a little harder to get out of bed. Still, they made the appointment. Cameron's arrival wasn't without it's share of drama. After receiving an epidural, Tinsen's blood pressure dropped and an emergency Cesarean section had to be done. But, after some scary moments, mother and son were doing fine and resting by Sunday evening. Cameron weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces and was 17 inches long, with a full head of brown hair.
