The Panthers (15-2, 10-2 SWC), who played as the home team after scheduling issues forced them to travel, won 14-0 and 10-0, both in five innings. Moore recorded 11 strikeouts and one walk in Game 1 and 10 strikeouts and three walks in Game 2. She has four no-hitters on the season. Moore finished 3-for-4 with three runs in the opener against the Axemen (1-15, 1-11). Hannah Newman was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs, Marissa Tarazon 2-for-3 with four RBIs and Krystal Williams 2-for-3 with two runs. In the second game, Newman went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Jeryka Johnson 2-for-3 with two runs and Williams 2-for-3. MARY’S 8-9, ILLINOIS VALLEY 4-3: At Cave Junction, Travis Danielson and Joe Johnson both pounded two-run home runs for St. Mary’s in the Southern Cascade League sweep. In the opener, Spencer McCabe went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Tanner Smith was 2-for-2 and Danielson hit a two-run shot that put the Crusaders (11-6, 6-0 SCL) ahead for good. In Game 2, Ty Mulholland finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs, Danielson and Ben Robinson both had two hits and Johnson hit his homer against the Cougars (6-8, 0-4). Boys Tennis NM/ASHLAND INVITE: South Medford’s Kyler Tosh, seeded second, beat No. 11 Mischa Kirby of Ashland, 6-0, 6-2, during the first day of the 12-school North Medford/Ashland Invitational at North Medford High. Also in the top singles grouping, North Medford’s Kane Garrett fell in straight sets. In the No. 1 doubles bracket, the Ashland pairing of Rox Rogers and Nur Shelton (seeded third) beat the No. 10 Grants Pass combination of Eliot Bald and Tyler Broyles, 6-0, 6-0. South Medford’s Ben Vaughn and Keigin Tosh fell in straight sets, as did North Medford’s Daniel Pederson and Tanner Williams. Summit leads with 76 points, followed by South Medford (67) and West Linn (61). Ashland is fifth (52) and North Medford 12th (4).
