Driver flees after west Medford crash A driver suffered minor injuries after Tuesday crash in which the other driver fled on foot. [Nick Morgan/Mail Tribune] Tuesday May 2, 2017 at 3:08 PM May 2, 2017 at 5:06 PM Nick Morgan Mail Tribune @mtcrimebeat Medford police were searching for a driver who allegedly blew a stop sign, injured another driver and fled the scene on foot Tuesday afternoon. Ronnie Cook of Medford was nursing minor injuries after a driver crashed into her car, then fled on foot about 1 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 11th and Hamilton streets in west Medford.  Cook said she was southbound on Hamilton "just cruising right along" when a driver in a black early 1990s model Geo Storm blew a stop sign while traveling west on 11th and struck the right front of Cook's BMW 525i sedan at high speed, sending her car into a nearby utility pole. Afterward, while holding an icepack to her arm, Cook said she had little time to process what happened to her. The impact caused her front airbag to deploy, and T-boned the black coupe, causing the rear hatch to open and pieces from the interior to fly out of the car. In the moments after her airbag deployed, she only saw the driver exiting out the passenger door and running westbound away from the crash. "He didn't even turn around," Cook said, calling him a "mean kid." Two other witnesses at the scene, who declined to give their names, said they thought the driver of the Geo was racing another car. The other vehicle fled the scene, they said. Police were still investigating the scene Tuesday afternoon and working to name the suspect, according to Medford police Lt. Kerry Curtis.
