No. 17 Cal trips Beavers Mar 25, 2016 12:00 AM A A BERKELEY, Calif. — KJ Harrison and Logan Ice each homered but third-ranked Oregon State was unable to overcome a five-run California fourth inning in a 6-2 loss to the 17th-ranked Golden Bears Thursday night at Evans Diamond. Both home runs came off Cal starter Daulton Jefferies, who held the Beavers to four hits. Harrison hit a 2-0 pitch over the left-field fence in the first, putting the Beavers up 1-0. Ice’s shot, his team-leading fifth of the year, came on a 3-2 pitch from Jefferies in the seventh. The home run was a solo shot and trimmed Cal’s (12-6 overall, 2-2 Pac-12 Conference) lead to 6-2. Drew Rasmussen started for Oregon State (16-3, 3-1), and struck out five in 3 1/3 innings. He did, however, allow four hits and five runs and was charged with his first loss of the season, dropping to 4-1.
