Earth Friends gives to nonprofit organizations Jul 22, 1997 12:00 AM A A ASHLAND ­ Earth Friends Telecom, a group of small businesses marketingdiscount long-distance telephone services, offers to channel part of therevenues to nonprofit causes. Co-founders Keith Cobb and Jo Garcia-Cobb cite the success of WorkingAssets, a cause-oriented telephone company based in San Francisco that donated$2.5 million last year. Earth Friends Telecom beneficiaries include the Southern Oregon EconomicDevelopment Coalition (an alliance of 11 organizations), Headwaters andPeace House.
