October 31. 2014 2:00AM Jean Camille Rector Jean Camille Rector passed away October 23, 2014 with family at her side. Her time to join her parents and friends has finally arrived and we all wish her well on her journey. Jean was born May 15, 1921 in Medford, Ore. and remained here all of her life. She was the daughter of Morris and Florence Leonard who were long-time owners of Leonard Electric in downtown Medford. She graduated from Medford High in 1939 and went on to receive her degree from what is now Southern Oregon University. During World War II Jean volunteered with the Auxiliary at Camp White and worked at US Bank. In 1960 she received her teaching credentials and began her career as a second and third grade teacher at Washington Elementary School. One of the greatest legacies of her life was the joy she felt when one of her former students would remind her what an impact she had had on their lives. Jean was an active member of the Hillcrest Committee and Junior Service League of Medford. In retirement she volunteered with the Jacksonville Historical Society. She was also able to travel the world with several of her friends in the area. Jean also spent a considerable amount of time in her flower garden. She is survived by her brother, Morris Leonard Jr. (Joan); sons, Rob (Ronda) and Jim (Shelley); grandchildren, Ryan, Ricci (Huling), Sterling, Wilson, and Christian; and four great-grandchildren, Ruby Rector, and Penelope, Eloise, and Bas Huling. Jean was a terrific daughter, mother, and grandmother and we will all miss her. At her request there will be no funeral service.
