I have the music, which was published by Burke and Van Heusen of New York City. I remember Rick Shoemaker playing the tune on radio station KBOY. I would like a tape of that song. If anybody has a tape, I sure would like a copy. I want that song played at my funeral (which I hope takes place a long time from now). — Anne T., city unknown Carmichael wrote the song for "Canyon Passage," a 1946 Warner Bros. western starring Dana Andrews and Susan Hayward and set in Oregon. He also wrote "I’m Gonna Get Married in the Morning," "Silver Saddle" and "Ole Buttermilk Sky" for the picture. Advertisement The last was nominated for an Academy Award but lost that year to Johnny Mercer and Harry Warren’s "On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe." You can do better than a tape. You can buy a video of the movie complete with all the songs. Find it at www.category.org for $14.98. The movie’s not bad, either. It’s in color. Look for Ward Bond as a bad guy.
