In back-to-back weekends, the Grizzlies (8-3) came away with extra-inning, doubleheader victories in improving to 4-2 in Southern Oregon Conference play. Ashland needed eight innings to earn a 5-4 win over Roseburg in the opener, then went eight more in taking the nightcap 8-7 over the Indians (4-5, 0-5 SOC). "I’m pretty excited about it," said Grizzly head coach Jason Robustelli. "Especially the way we clawed back in Game 1. Roseburg’s a good team and they’re going to beat some people this year." Advertisement Grizzly senior Bryan Clevenger drove in the winning runs in both games and scored twice in the opener. Clevenger’s eighth-inning sacrifice fly in Game 1 scored Micah Weston from third. In Game 2, Clevenger’s two-out single in the eighth inning drove in Chris Presicci from third to cap the sweep. Presicci went 4-for-5 in Game 2. Arron Nelson gave Ashland a 5-2 lead with a two-run homer in the fourth inning of the nightcap. In the fifth inning, Brian Ross broke a 5-5 game with a two-run bomb down the left- field line.
