Ault, Munsell boost Loggers over North Lake Friday Oct 7, 2016 at 2:00 AM Oct 7, 2016 at 11:21 PM SILVER LAKE — A long bus ride didn’t derail the Butte Falls volleyball team Friday as the Loggers used steady play throughout to edge North Lake 25-20, 25-22, 25-20 for a Mountain Valley League victory. Butte Falls junior Destinee Ault supplied nine kills and solid play at the net, while senior Katie Munsell anchored the serve-receive game for the Loggers to go with four aces and a pair of key service runs in the first and third sets. “We just had consistent play,” said Butte Falls head coach Skyler Harrington. “We stayed with our game plan and continued to run our offense fairly effectively. They were a good, scrappy team that kept putting some pressure on us that way. But in the long run, our serving was more consistent and our serve-receive was probably the biggest difference.” Junior T’Neal Myers added five aces and a pair of five-plus point service runs for the Loggers (9-4, 5-2 MVL). CHURCHILL 3, EAGLE POINT 0: At Eugene, Eagle Point wasn’t able to contain Churchill, which secured a 25-14, 25-7, 25-16 Midwestern League win. Alyson Schessler registered 15 digs, three kills, two aces and a pair of blocks for the Eagles (3-13, 1-9 MWL). Ryleigh Gainey added 10 digs, three kills and a couple of aces for EP. Churchill jumped to 9-7 and 8-3 in league. PROSPECT 3, TRINITY LUTHERAN 0: At Prospect, Hailey Govenor had nine kills and five blocks to lead Prospect to the 25-23, 25-18, 25-18 Mountain Valley League upset. Baley VanWormer added 14 digs and Lexy Stockebrand had 11 assists for the Cougars (8-5, 3-4 MVL). Girls Soccer GRANTS PASS 2, SOUTH EUGENE 0: At Eugene, Kylee Dillon and Brynne Anderson both scored and assisted on one another’s goal, guiding Grants Pass to the Southwest Conference triumph.
