Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Advertisement Email Story to a Friend June 20, 2005 Mustangs sweep away Redding The Medford Mustangs improved to 11-4 in AAA American Legion play with a doubleheader sweep over the Redding, Calif. Rattlers Sunday. Both of Medford’s runs in the opener stemmed from Rattler mistakes. Abe Eubank scored in the fourth inning off a Rattler error, while Darren Bruhns walked home in the fifth after Chad Hegdahl was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Cole Rohrbough got his first win on the mound for the Mustangs. He finished with five strikeouts. Medford scored four in the second inning of Game 2 only to be matched by Redding in the fifth. Despite only one Rattler hit, three Mustang errors in the inning evened the score. Eubank singled in the last of two Mustang runs for Medford to regain the lead in the sixth. SOUTHERN OREGON BASEBALL TOURNAMENT — At Eagle Point, North Medford finished third Sunday behind Fairfield, Calif. and Beaverton, but topped local class A American Legion teams Eagle Point and Ashland. The Mavericks (8-5, 5-3 Area 4) finished 2-2 on the weekend, losing to eventual champion Fairfield, 9-4, and defeating Eagle Point, 6-2, in the final day of tournament play. Tyler Lake was 3-for-4 against the Eagles and Trevor McCleery had two hits. Daniel Warner had a double for Eagle Point (3-5). Eagle Point and Ashland both finished 1-3 with Eagle Point claiming fourth by way of a victory over Grizzlies. Ashland’s Matt Dierks paced the offense with a two-bagger against the Eagles.
