Officers first responded to a report of yelling in the 1100 block of Siskiyou Boulevard at about 2:55 a.m. On arrival, they discovered the glass panels on a bus shelter had been shattered. Reports of vehicle damage began coming in about 5 a.m. from callers in the area above the boulevard from Liberty Street to Gresham Street. A number of windows were  broken on cars parked along the alley behind the Ashland library. Windows on the back of the library and on the alley side of Ashland Home Real Estate Inc. were also broken. Investigators did not find any rocks along the way, and whoever did it may have carried a device with them that was used to break the windows, said Deputy Chief Warren Hensmen. Total damages are in the thousands of dollars. Hensmen said the department doesn't have any leads, and is encouraging anyone with any information about something they heard or saw during that time span, even if it may seem "slight," to call the department at 541-482-5211 or the anonymous tip line at 541-552-2333.
