You can help Here are organizations that need the public's help over the holidays: Toys for Tots -- The local Marine Corps League is collecting new, unwrapped toys for needy children. Leave toys at any fire station in Medford, White City or Central Point that has a barrel with the Toys for Tots poster. Toys must be in the barrel by today. Rogue Valley Christmas Toy Drive , coordinated by CERVS with help from the Salvation Army and ACCESS, needs new, unwrapped toys. Take toys to drop sites at CERVS, 601 N. Grape St., or Lithia Motors, 600 and 700 N. Central Ave. Food donations are also welcome. ACCESS Inc. Food Share , together with the Mail Tribune, is collecting bags of nonperishable food to stock food pantries throughout the winter. Grocery bags were enclosed in the Mail Tribune, or use your own. Fill them with food or mail a donation in the envelope provided. The food drive lasts through December. Bags can be dropped off at any fire station in the county, or at these local churches: Ascension Lutheran at 2617 E. Barnett Road in Medford from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Lidgate Hall behind Medford Congregational at 1801 E. Jackson St. First Christian at 1900 Crater Lake Ave. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. St. Peter's Lutheran at 1020 E. Main St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Westminster Presbyterian at 2000 Oakwood Drive from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Bags can also be dropped off at Sherm's Thunderbird and Food 4 Less in Medford. For more information, call ACCESS at 779-6691. Community Works , a nonprofit social service agency serving more than 30,000 families and individuals, seeks donations ranging from clothing to food to assist needy families. The agency offers direct counseling services to more than 2,000 troubled families and serves over 700 women and children annually at Dunn House, a shelter for the battered. To help, call Larissa before Friday at 779-2393, Ext. 218. The Salvation Army has received more than 1,000 applications from low-income families for Christmas baskets. The social service organization will take applications for the holiday food baskets through Friday. They will accept food donations through Dec. 23. The army also assigns families to businesses and individuals interested in adopting a family and helping them with food and gifts for Christmas. The agency still needs turkeys, stuffing mix, canned food, and baking ingredients, including flour, sugar and shortening, for the holiday baskets. Drop off donations at the Salvation Army office, 922 N.
