Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend February 19, 2006 Hayward, Keyser lead Crater hockey win Local Roundup Robert Hayward and Jake Keyser each had two goals in regulation and one apiece in the second shootout to lead Crater to a 7-6 win over South Medford Saturday at The RRRink. Keyser scored with 17 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game and send it to the first shootout. The three players for both sides were shut out in the extra session, setting up Hayward and Keyser’s scores in the second shootout. Jared Adamson scored South’s lone goal in the shootout. Keyser and Hayward also had two assists, while Cameron Hodenfield added a goal in regulation. For the Panthers, Zack MacDonald had two goals, Taylor Boyd and Devin Thompson each scored one and Lane Littlefield had an assist. Crater goalie George Williamson stopped five of the six shots in the shootout. Eugene...................................................0 1 1 — 2 North Medford......................................2 1 2 — 5 Tennis YOUTH TOURNAMENT — Unseeded Matthew Pronesti of Medford won his opening-round match but was beaten in the quarterfinals in the 2006 Boys and Girls 12-and-under Endorsement Tennis Tournament at the Rogue Valley Swim and Tennis Club. The tournament consists of some of the top age-group players in the Northwest. In boys singles, three of the top four seeds advanced into today’s semifinals. Second-seeded Alexander Wallace of Vancouver, Wash., was the only boys ranked player to fall. Pronesti lost to fourth-seeded Luke Thompson of Richland, Wash., 6-3, 7-6 (3). Top-seeded Kent Andreasen of Vancouver, Wash., advanced with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Austin McCasin of Bellingham, Wash. In boys doubles, Eric Morse and Bruno Romero of Medford won two matches to move into the finals. The top three seeded girls moved into the semifinals.
