Chip in tonight for Ty's eyes Feb 18, 2009 12:00 AM A A Help a Medford elementary school raise money for a boy who needs an eye operation and revisit John, Paul, George and Ringo all in one concert tonight. Griffin Creek Elementary School's Beatles concert for Ty Newcombe is at 7 p.m. at South Medford High School. Tie-dye-clad students in each grade will present a Beatles favorite. A suggested $2 donation will get you in the door. Third-grader Ty has optic nerve hypoplasia and can see only shadows. He is scheduled to travel to Thailand in May for an experimental treatment that his family hopes will restore his vision, and the concert was organized to raise money for the treatment and trip.
