> By Sam Wheeler Mail Tribune September 03. 2014 2:00AM Car crash kills Talent woman A fatal car crash Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of 10th and Cottage streets in Medford killed a 74-year-old Talent woman, police said. After being removed from the passenger seat of a 2004 Buick Century by emergency responders using a jaws of life tool, Francis Elliott was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Rogue Regional Medical Center, according to a press release from the Medford Police Department. Her husband, Bill Elliott, 85, was driving the vehicle northbound on Cottage Street when a 2007 Toyota Tacoma headed west on 10th Street collided with the passenger side of the couple's Buick at about 2:56 p.m., the release said. Following the collision, the Elliotts' Buick careened over the sidewalk and into a tree in the yard of a home at 225 Cottage Street. Francis Elliott was trapped inside the vehicle when emergency crews arrived on scene, the release said. Bill Elliott was also transported to the hospital, where he was treated and released, police said. Police have not released the name of the 32-year-old Phoenix man driving the Toyota. The MPD's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash, the release said. No one involved has been cited, the released said.
