Films done by women to get SOU screenings ASHLAND In honor of womens history, Southern Oregon University will present films directed and produced by women on the third Tuesday of every month. The films will be shown at 7 p.m. in the Redford Lounge, Stevenson Union, on the SOU campus. On April 17, two films will be shown: "The Righteous Babes" by Pratibha Parmer, 1998, explores the intersection of feminism with popular music, focusing on the role of female recording artists in the 1990s and their influence on women. "Guerrillas in Our Midst" by Amy Harrison, 1992, presents a savvy exploration of the machinations of the commercial art world during its boom in the 1980s. The Guerrilla Girls are an anonymous group of art terrorists that have succeeded in putting racism and sexism on the art world agenda. The events are free and open to the public. Donations are welcome. For more information, contact the Womens Resource Center at 552-6216.
