Jones struck out five before giving way to Cassie Giesbrecht. Rita Long opened the scoring for the Chieftains with a two-run triple that sparked a five-run second inning. Sutherlin scored three runs in the top of the sixth to trim the lead to 5-3, but Giesbrecht belted a three-run triple in the bottom half to put the game away. Track & Field CRUSADER RELAYS — The St. Mary’s quartet of Liz Tribelhorn, Renee Huizinga, Chrissy Seus and Kayla Eichamer teamed to win the girls sprint medley and 4x400-meter relay at the Crusader Relays at St. Mary’s High on Monday. New Hope Christian won the meet with 57 points and received wins from Tonia Scharf, Emily Morehouse and in the distance medley. In the boys meet, Chiloquin won three field events and four relay events to dominate the Crusader Relays. St. Mary’s received a solid effort from senior John Wing in the throws.
