Medford Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon need your help to find 47-year-old Dean Robert Long. Long’s first drug conviction dates to 1996 when he was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He pleaded guilty to the charge and received three years’ probation, in addition to a fine of $594. Long was arrested again in November 2001 on drug charges. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years’ probation, 20 days in jail and a fine. In April 2003, Long was arrested by Medford police for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He was indicted but failed to appear for the hearing and a warrant was issued. After being arrested again he was released on his own recognizance, but when he failed to show for his second arraignment, another felony arrest warrant was issued. Additional warrants have been issued for violating the terms of his probation and for a new charge of possession of a controlled substance; the new warrants are serviceable in Oregon and Washington. Long is described as 5-foot-8, weighing 195 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes. Long has multiple tattoos, including one on his left breast of "Shari Mi Amor," a heart with the word "Tara" on his right forearm, a heart and sword on his upper left arm, "Bob" on the top of his left hand and "Long" tattooed on his left knuckles. The photo here, taken Dec. 13, 2002, is the most recent available. If you see Long or have any information of his whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at (800)3-DETECT (800-333-8328) and refer to case No. MT-77. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in these cases or any unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous.
