Roseburg wraps up No. 2 spot SOC BOYS BASKETBALL ROSEBURG -- Dustin Michalek turned in a complete performance for the Roseburg Indians in Southern Oregon Conference boys basketball on Tuesday. Roseburg clinched the SOC second-place berth with a 65-44 win over South Medford in the regular season finale. Michalek paced the Indians (13-10, 10-4 SOC) with 15 points to go with four steals and three assists. He scored seven points in the opening quarter as Roseburg charged to a 25-10 margin. "Defense really played a big part for us," Roseburg coach Mike Pardon said. "To be successful you have to come out and play some hard-nosed defense. We got some turnovers and some easy baskets." Junior wing Brian Hickey led South with 17 points and eight rebounds. "He (Hickey) looked real good," said Pardon. "He made some nice penetration moves. The strength of South's game was penetrating and that gave us some trouble tonight."
