Celtic music at Paddy Brannan's Nov 25, 2011 12:00 AM A A It might not be on the Emerald Isle, but Paddy Brannan's recreates the atmosphere of an authentic Irish pub with lively Celtic-music sessions. Local Celtic bands — the Catapulting Viddles and Jug of Punch — play traditional Irish tunes at 6:15 p.m. Fridays and 6 p.m. Saturdays, respectively, at the Ashland pub, 23 S. Second St. The Catapulting Viddles is Mark Tuttle on fiddle and Daniel Carr on mandolin and guitar. Jug of Punch features Carr and Richard Johnson on mandolin. Guests often jam with the duos, and Carr's father — a professional Celtic multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, tenor banjo and uilleann pipes) — frequently accompanies his son's projects. There is no cover to the shows. Call 541-488-7973.
