He was born in Portland, Ore. September 19, 1943, the son of Margaret and Leland Friesen. Charles moved to Ashland, Ore. from southern California in 1994. He devoted his time and energy during the years he lived in the Rogue Valley to music. He served as the Minister of Music at Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church and Trinity Episcopal Church, both of Ashland, Ore. Most recently he was the choir director at the Ascension Lutheran Church of Medford, Ore. His passion centered on leading people in worship through music to touch the heart of God. Charles will be remembered for his compassionate heart, his dedication to music and his heartfelt love for his family. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Friesen; his brother, Larry Friesen; and many beloved nieces and nephews. We invite all who knew Charles to his memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 44 North Second Street, Ashland, Ore. 97520.
