Late Bennett goal lifts Magic Tennille Bennett broke a scoreless tie with 4 minutes remaining on Saturday to give the 19-under girls Rogue Valley Magic a 1-0 win over Central Point's Table Rock Soccer Club at the seventh annual Rogue Valley Soccer Cup Tournament. The Magic dominated shots on goal but struggled to find the net until Bennett's late-game heroics at North Medford High. The Magic improved to 2-0 after downing Grants Pass 5-0 in their second game of the day. In 16-under girls, the Rogue Valley Blackhawks disposed of the INXS club of Minden, Nev., 3-1, then blanked Bend's COSA squad, 3-0. Julie Elbon scored two goals for the Blackhawks in their first-game dismantling of INXS while Kalah Zielke added another. Erin Reno, Brittany Quinowski and Lisa Munyon all tallied goals in the shutout win over COSA. Martin Nelson scored the lone goal for the RVSC Cobras in a 5-1 loss to Lake Tahoe's Avalanche team in 11-under boys action. The Cobras quickly bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Central Point's Table Rock Soccer Club. Mike Lavagnino, Aaron Detrick and Nelson each scored during the Cobras' win.
