Rosalie A. Houston Wednesday Nov 2, 2016 at 2:00 AM September 27, 1923 - October 26, 2016 It is with sadness that the family and friends of longtime Medford resident, Rosalie A. Houston announce her passing October 26, 2016 at Rogue Regional Medical Center. She passed peacefully following a brief illness. She may be gone from this earthly place but her spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her. Born September 27, 1923 to Santiago and Helen Anduha on the island of Maui, Hawaii, Rosalie was one of 18 children. Rosalie married Merle LeRoy "Roy" Houston, Engineman First Class, U.S. Navy November 12, 1955 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Roy passed June 13, 1998 following a lengthy illness. She is survived by one son, William Wayne Houston; two grandchildren, Ryan Houston and Jennifer Houston; and two great-grandchildren, Ella Rose, whose middle name is in honor of her great- grandmother, and Sam Houston; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends. Rosie was a long-time member of Hawaii Hui of Oregon Club. She loved singing, dancing, and music of all kinds. She loved playing bingo with her many friends at Horton Plaza. She enjoyed frequent trips to Seven Feathers and loved to shop. She was a spunky spitfire of a person who will be dearly missed. The viewing is at Conger Morris in Medford (541-772-7111) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. November 3, 2016 with Chaplin Paul Hagedorn officiating. A brief service and burial to be conducted at Eagle Point National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. November 4, 2016. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Oregon Humane Society.
