South Medford sophomore Chase Cota was recognized as a first-team Southwest Conference selection on offense and defense after recent voting by SWC coaches. The receiver/defensive end shared first-team recognition with teammates Kaleb Franklin (sophomore tight end) and Jaylin Parnell (sophomore linebacker). North Medford’s first-team players were senior running back Will Spence, junior defensive lineman Tre Holmes, junior linebacker Praise Viliamu and senior defensive back Tucker Barry. Grants Pass had six first-team nods, as well as the defensive player of the year in senior lineman Anthony Del Toro. The Cavemen first-teamers were senior guard Aaron Little, senior running back Jake Stoffel, senior receiver Jeret Musser, senior placekicker Jaxon Clark, junior linebacker Jake Kasiah and Del Toro (who was also a first-team tackle). In addition, Clark was a first-team punter. Sheldon senior quarterback Justin Herbert was offensive player of the year and Sheldon’s Lane Johnson was coach of the year.
