Ashland ski teams garner league titles, top state seeds LAKEVIEW - The Ashland boys and girls ski teams each were victorious Saturday in the Southern League's final meet at Warner Canyon. Both Ashland squads also earned league champion status with the win and will represent the conference as the No. 1 seeds at the state meet on March 6-7 at Mount Hood. The South Medford girls finished second and will be the No. 2 seed at state, while North Medford had its season end with a third-place league finish. Lakeview is the boys second seed, while South Medford took third and North Medford fourth. Megan Hald (1:46.90) and Lindsay Warren (1:48.45) finished first and second, respectively, for the Grizzlies in girls competition Saturday. It was Hald's first-ever victory. Heather Caswell took third for North Medford with a time of 1:54.34, while South Medford's highest placer was Whitney Barry (2:01.37) in eighth. In boys, Lakeview's Jens Odegaard finished first with a time of 1:26.07 and Ashland's Griffin Loop took second in 1:31.46.
