A Medford police officer Saturday arrested Parker on charges of first-degree burglary and fourth- degree assault. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Saturday on $24,000 bail. Burglary — Jedidiah Wayne Evers, 24, of the 1200 block of Skeeters Lane, Medford. A Medford police officer Saturday arrested Evers on charges of first-degree burglary, disorderly conduct and menacing. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $27,000 bail. Theft — Joshua Lee Gibson, 26, of the 6000 block of Table Rock Road, Central Point. A Medford police officer Saturday arrested Gibson on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving with a suspended license. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $8,000 bail. Drugs — James Michael Campbell, 28, of the 6900 block of Sterling Creek Road, Jacksonville. A Medford police officer Saturday arrested Campbell on a charge of possession of amphetamines. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $5,000 bail. Drugs — Allan George Dickson, 23, of the 500 block of South Shasta Avenue, Eagle Point. An Eagle Point police officer Saturday arrested Dickson on a charge of possession of amphetamines and a warrant charging him with littering. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $11,000 bail. Drugs — Andrew Caucutt, 40, of the 6100 block of Sterling Creek Road, Jacksonville. An Oregon State Police trooper arrested Caucutt late Friday on a charge of possession of amphetamines. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $5,000 bail. Advertisement Drugs — Michael Joseph Atwood, 40, of the 100 block of North Columbus Avenue, Medford. A Medford police officer Saturday arrested Atwood on charges of possession of amphetamines and failure to appear in court. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $9,000 bail. Fire call Grass fire — State and county fire crews battled a wind-driven grass fire Saturday afternoon near the 600 block of Stevens Road. Dry grass lodged in a lawnmower is believed to have sparked the blaze, said Jackson County Fire District No. 3 engineer Kim Knox. At least one helicopter dropped water onto the fire while 13 ground crews from District 3 and the Oregon Department of Forestry fought the blaze from the ground. The fire, reported at 3:24 p.m., burned just more than 6 acres of grass and weeds, Knox said. At least one structure was threatened, Knox said. Firefighters remained on the scene until 6:30 p.m. Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winters said the fire-fighting effort appeared to have been slowed by motorists who stopped along roads to watch the blaze burn. "Every minute counts on something like this, ... and (onlookers) slowed the response of incoming equipment," said Winters, whose deputies helped control traffic during the fire. Injury accident Motorcycle crash — A man was flown to a Medford hospital Saturday after a tree branch became lodged in his chest during a motorcycle ride along Jacksonville Reservoir Road, police said. Danny Albert O’Duane, 31, of Medford was in fair condition late Saturday at Rogue Valley Medical Center, according to a nursing supervisor. O’Duane apparently ran into a tree while riding his motorcycle, Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winters said. A tree branch became lodged just below O’Duane’s right collarbone, causing him to lose a large amount of blood, Winters said.
