Mrs. Turner, 72, of Sams Valley, died Wednesday (Dec. 1, 1999) in Medford. The obituary in Saturday's Mail Tribune listed the wrong date for the gathering. — — The memorial service for Sidney F. Tab Carter will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the recreation room at 3600 Avenue G, White City. The family will officiate. Mr. Carter, 67, of Jacksonville, died Thursday (Dec. 2, 1999) at his home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1425 Irving, Suite 100, Portland, OR 97232. He was born April 16, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son of Sidney Frank and Elberta (Foster) Carter. He moved to the Rogue Valley from North Bend in 1976. On June 14, 1980, in Carson City, Nev., he married Donna M. Johnston, who survives. Mr. Carter was a truck driver with West Coast Truck Lines. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Jo Lynn, White City, Toni Reigard, and Sue Hammond, both North Bend; two sons, Scott Carter, North Bend, and Craig Rubin, Medford; a brother, Leonard, in Missouri; three sisters, Martha Rodriguez, Oak Harbor, Wash., Louise Napier, Coos Bay, and Betty Smith, Bakersfield, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Carter and Todd Rubin; two brothers; and one sister. Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary. — Betty Waller Bamforth — A celebration of the life of Betty Waller Bamforth will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at 1297 Ashland Mine Road, Ashland. Mrs. Bamforth, 87, of Ashland, died Thursday (Dec. 2, 1999) at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Alliance of Oregon, P.O. Box 10051, Portland, OR 97210. She was born Elizabeth Jane Betty Waller on June 27, 1912, in Seattle. On Aug. 13, 1931, in Seattle, she married Albert E. Bamforth, who died in 1997. Mrs. Bamforth and her husband owned and operated several motels in the Rogue Valley, starting in the late 1940s with Waller Inn in Rogue River. After moving to Ashland in the late 1950s, they bought the Valley Entrance Motel, now the Roadway Inn, and then Bard's Inn, which they owned from 1962 to 1985. While in Rogue River, Mrs. Bamforth was a member of the Boosters Club that was instrumental in the founding of the Rogue River Rooster Crow. The Bamforths were actively involved in the growth of the Best Western Motel Association. Mrs. Bamforth enjoyed traveling and working in her yard. Survivors include two sons, Bert, Ashland, and Bruce, Springfield; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland. — Raymond Mayfield — The funeral service for Raymond Mayfield will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, in the Central Valley Chapel, Central Point. Pastor John Bigham, of Reedsport Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Mr. Mayfield, 88, of Central Point, died Friday (Dec. 3, 1999), at Hearthstone Manor. He was born Aug. 26, 1911, in Beagle, a son of Joseph and Ruby Russell Mayfield. He lived in the Rogue Valley all his life. On Nov. 17, 1934 in Medford he married Ella Blackman, who died June 1, 1999. Mr. Mayfield worked for the Steve Wilson Lumber Company. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Hope Christian Church in Central Point. Survivors include a son, Delbert Mayfield, Central Point; two daughters, Sharon Lyon, Salem, and Velma Olsen, Auburn, Wash.; two sisters, Marjorie Florey, Central Point and Berta Harrison, Swan Lake, Mont., two brothers, Dick, Redmond, and Joe, Bend; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson. Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care. — Richard Earl Cervin — Richard Earl Cervin, 64, of Central Point, died Wednesday, (Dec. 1, 1999) at his home. A private service is planned. He was born Jan. 6, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., a son of Earl Raymond and Kathryn Hamilton Cervin. On Dec. 27, 1981, in Glendale, Calif. he married Carol R. Crews, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996. Mr. Cervin received a electrical engineering degree from Northwestern University. He worked as an aerospace engineer, cookbook writer, Realtor and insurance salesman. He retired in 1996. He was a member of Church of Religous Sciences. He enjoyed photography and walking in the forests. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Rick, Sacramento, Calif., and Michael, Glendale, Calif.; a daughter, Tina Gavrich, San Francisco; a twin sister, June Sieh, Menomanie, Wisc.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Ourda, and a granddaughter. Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care. — Ada Zinser — Ada C. Zinser, 92, of Medford, died Saturday (Dec. 4, 1999) in Three Fountains Nursing Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Memory Gardens Mortuary in Medford. — Robert Morris — Robert Judson Morris, 81, of Medford, died Friday (Dec. 3, 1999) at Farmington Square in Medford. Arrangements will be announced by Hillcrest Mortuary. — Nelda Hall — Nelda Hall, 66, of Jacksonville, died Friday (Dec. 3, 1999) at Ashland Community Hospital. A private service is planned. She was born Nelda Phillips April 9, 1933, in Jacksonville. On June 25, 1948, in Sitka, Alaska, she married Lee Hall, who survives. Mrs. Hall raised horses and cattle. She was a member of the McKee Bridge Lions Club. he enjoyed sculpting, gardening, hunting and fishing. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Veldena Breedlove, Gold Hill, and Uintah Varner, Medford; two sons, Austin Hall, Medford, and Flint Hall, Jacksonville; a sister, Darien Phillips, Shady Cove; a brother, Dean Phillips, Wragell, Alaska; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a grandson. Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services of Medford. — Charles Wahler — The funeral for Charles H. Wahler will be at — p.m. Tuesday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford. The Rev. Don Farnsworth will officiate. Mr. Wahler, 89, of Medford, died Friday (Dec. 3, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, 2910 Table Rock Rd., Medford, OR 97501. He was born Feb. 11, 1910, in Brooklyn, N.Y. On Feb. 11, 1965, he married Elvira Marotz, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1976. During World War II, Mr. Wahler worked building ships. He later was a laboratory inspector. Mr. Wahler was a Mason. He enjoyed traveling and camping. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Charles Wahler, Long Island, N.Y.; three stepdaughters, Faith Caldwell, Hillsboro, Hope Albertson, Florence, and Letti Ann Christoffersen, Coarsegold, Calif.; a stepson, Gaylon Diederich, San Rafael, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
