No one I asked at the bank knew what the third language was. Can you find out? — Bettie S., Medford You bet, Bettie. We set the Since You Asked team of amateur linguists to work and they came back with a quick determination that the language you didn’t recognize was the lovely Cyrillic script of Russian. A call to the bank’s regional spokeswoman, Darcy Donahoe-Willmot, confirmed that Washington Mutual is adding Russian and Chinese language capabilities to some of its automated teller machines around the country, and Medford is home to an ATM offering Russian. She said the bank selects locations where additional languages will be offered based on the needs of the local community and travelers in the area.
