California Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 4, between South Oregon and South Fifth streets, with Highway 238 traffic to be diverted along North Oregon, E, F and North Fifth streets. Third and Fourth streets' blocks adjacent to California Street also will be closed to motor vehicles. The festivities happen from noon to 4 p.m. The annual wine walk is the focal point of the event, and up to 450 visitors can purchase tickets for $30 at the wine booth on the corner of California Street and North Third. Tickets include a commemorative wine glass and unlimited tastings. Ticket holders can make only one stop at each spot on the wine walk. Tickets also are available at Art Presence Art Center, 206. N. Fifth St. Platt Anderson Cellars will pair six cold appetizers with five of its wines at 11 a.m. at Art Presence. From there, visitors can stop at shops and tasting rooms throughout Jacksonville to sample vintages from about 25 local wineries. Look for Daisy Creek Vineyards at Stim Coffee, Devitt Winery at Jacksonville Company, Red Lily Vineyards at Good Bean Coffee, Schmidt Family Vineyards at Jacksonville Gems and Jewelry, Soloro Vineyards at Cotton Broker, Troon Vineyard at Creator's Gallery, Valley View Winery at Jacksonville Inn and Wild Wines at The Cheesemonger's Wife. Wines by Belle Fiore Winery, Cliff Creek Cellars, Del Rio Vineyards, EdenVale Winery, Kriselle Cellars, La Brasseur Vineyard, Ledger David Cellars, Melrose Vineyards, Pebblestone Cellars, RoxyAnn Winery, Serra Vineyards and Weisinger's Family Winery will be available at stops along the wine walk. Tasting rooms for South Stage Cellars, Quady North Winery and Umpqua Wineries will be open. Maravel Road Steel Band — a world music and Calypso-style band led by steel pan artist Tom Berich — will perform from noon to 1:45 p.m. on the South Third Street Stage. Chicago-style blues and R&B group Duke Street — with slide guitarist and lead singer John Hauschild, stand-up and electric bassist Joe Cohoon, drummer Kent Clinkenbeard, Michael Vannice on sax and keys and Scott Rogers on guitar — will perform from 2:15 to 4 p.m. Sax player Allan Adler, pianist Thor Polson, bassist Joe Cohoon and drummer Theresa McCoy of Ashland will perform from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on North Fourth and California streets, and chamber music players from North Medford High School will perform from 3 to 4 p.m. This year's event includes more food vendors than ever on North Third Street. Look for Fired Up Food Truck, Jolie's Bento, Peruvian Point, Wok Star, Jenny's Thyme and Sweet Cream artisan ice cream. Back Porch Bar and Grill, Bella Union, Mexican restaurant Las Palmas and Ray's Market are open during the event, among other Jacksonville eateries. Artisans Alley on California Street will offer cookies by AuntieMama; Burses — books made into purses — by Ammy; lavender from English Lavender Farm; functional and decorative tile art by Halpin Art; Hemingway Woodworks; handmade and vintage musical instruments by innerRhythm; photography by Jerrold Hagstrom; glass art by LightGarden; natural and handmade soaps by Momma Leche Soap; and block-printed scarves by Sunbird Scarves. Don't forget the beer garden hosted by Frau Kemmling Schoolhaus Brewhaus on South Third Street, along with vintage cars, street rods and trucks from car clubs Rogue Valley Classic Chevys, Rogue Valley Model A's, Rogue Valley Street Rods, rolling Oldies Vintage Trailers and Stray Cats of Jacksonville parked along California Street.
