BUSINESS BRIEFS Goodwill opens job center in Ashland Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jun. 11, 2016 at 12:01 AM Posted Jun. 11, 2016 at 12:01 AM » Social News Southern Oregon Goodwill Industries has opened a Job Connection center in Ashland, providing free resources for job seekers in surrounding communities. The Goodwill Job Connection is a community resource center connecting people with local employers. It offers free job searches and referrals, personalized guidance for people who are looking for work, and access to computers, a phone, fax and copier. Operating hours at the center, located at 310 Oak St., Unit 3, are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Job seekers can set up email accounts, polish interview skills, and get help preparing and printing resumes and cover letters. Local and regional job leads are provided at the Job Connection and by email. In addition to one-on-one attention, the Job Connection offers online courses and group workshops on job-search strategies, networking and other employment-related topics. Goodwill also has a Job Connection station at 11 W. Jackson St., Medford, and operates two Job Connections in Douglas County, and one each in Josephine, Klamath and Lake counties. Salon by InStyle opens inside JCPenney The Salon by InStyle inside JCPenney at the Rogue Valley Mall opens June 17. InStyle fashion and beauty experts have created what they call a cutting-edge salon experience. Medford is among the first jcp salons in the country to transform to the new Salon by InStyle concept. The salon opens at 10 a.m. The first 100 guests will receive swag bags filled with complimentary haircare products from Matrix, AG, It’s A 10 and Sebastian. Superior Stamp turns 60 Superior Stamp & Sign Co., 1016 E. Jackson St., Medford, is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Olivia Dupray launched a rubber stamp manufacturer business in 1956 at her home on Holly Street before moving to Bartlett Street in downtown Medford a few years later. In 1986 Linda Dupray, her daughter, bought the business, adding new business lines and changing the name to Superior Stamp & Sign Co. In 2006, the firm was moved out of downtown Medford to make way for The Commons urban renewal project. Three years ago, Dupray bought Northwest Trophy and Engraving, adding trophies, medals and awards to the mix. In 2014, the company acquired Universal Rubber Stamp of Grants Pass. Superior Stamp & Sign continues to make stamps, signs, engravings, laser etchings, acrylic awards and plaques. It also sells products nationwide through its website. AllCare Health gets award Grants Pass-based AllCare Health, one of Oregon’s 16 coordinated care organizations, received the Performance Excellence Northwest Achievement Award at the “Journey to the Summit” regional performance excellence awards summit in Lake Oswego. The annual event, hosted by the Performance Excellence Northwest chapter of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, recognizes Oregon, Washington and Idaho companies demonstrating exceptional performance. Winners are committed to continuous improvement efforts and serve as models for other companies throughout the Pacific Northwest. The PENW Achievement Awards are modeled after the national Baldrige Criteria for performance excellence. Winners are chosen by a panel of national Baldrige Award examiners and a judge mentor.
