Here's some facts about the curved building at Apple and East Fifth streets: Name: Monarch Building, after a 1970s feed and seed store housed there. Address: 315 E. Fifth St., inside Medford's Historic Downtown District and facing Pear Blossom Park. Architecture style: Altered Moderne. Built: 1947, as the home of the Leever Motor Co., owned and operated by Earl Leever. Leever, a Dodge-Plymouth dealer in Ashland from 1936 to 1942, sold Willys and Packards at this location until 1954, when it became Medford's Dodge dealership.  In the 1970s: Building was occupied by the Monarch Seed and Feed Co., a longtime Medford business. In the early 1980s: Lithia Motors acquired the Dodge dealership, bought the Monarch building, substantially remodeled it and turned it into a showroom. The remodel obscured the building's historic features. In 2013: Lithia remodeled the building again to return it back to its Streamlined Moderne style. Lithia and the Medford Urban Renewal Agency spent about $500,000 in improvements, including seismic upgrades.
