Cascade Christian falls to Etna, 20-12 WHITE CITY Cascade Christian gave an impressive showing before falling 20-12 to a tough Etna, Calif., team Friday in non-conference football at the V.A. Domiciliary. Etna, the defending champion in its Class 3A Northern California league, was coming off a 26-6 rout of perennial Southern Cascade League power Lost River. The game wasnt decided until Etna, leading 14-12, took over deep in Cascade territory with about two minutes left and scored with 1:21 to play on Tyler Lampellas third rushing touchdown. Cascade is 1-1 overall. "It was back-and-forth and in the trenches," said Challengers assistant coach Dave Patterson. "It was a tight game all the way through." Etna scored first in the first quarter when Lampella drove in from the 4-yard line. Cascade answered with a 72-yard pass from Stan Kelly to Ricky Cummings in the same period. Lampella scored again from the 1 in the second, and Cascade tallied again in the third on a Kelly pass to Brian Prins for 12 yards. Kelly was 4-for-9 for 121 yards, and Prins gained 90 yard rushing on 20 carries. Jordan Ferrell added 42 yards on eight carries for the Challengers.
