WHITE CITY — For the only time this year, the Northwest Wingless Sprint and Midget Association will run at Southern Oregon Speedway Saturday. The association will bring close to a dozen cars, plus several local racers are expected to give the wingless cars a try. Southern Oregon Speedway regular Garen Linder won a similar event in Cottage Grove this summer and plans to race Saturday. In addition to the sprints and midgets, the dwarf and mini stock classes will run. With only two more races for the dwarfs, 25 points separate the top six cars in the standings. Leader Kelly Gutches has a 10-point edge over second-place, R.J. McGahuey. Admission is $15. The cost is $12 for seniors, children ages 7-12 and military personnel with ID. Kids under 6 get in free. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing is at 6. Southern Oregon Speedway is located off Highway 140 at Kershaw Road.
