John Leroy Jennings, 27, of the 400 block of South Columbus Avenue was arraigned Tuesday in Jackson County Circuit Court on two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault and two counts of menacing. Medford police arrested Jennings at about 1:30 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of a disturbance at his home, Lt. Mike Moran said. Police said Jennings used a folding knife to stab two women who were among a group that followed him and his wife home from a bar in the 800 block of Stewart Avenue. The victims’ injuries were not life-threatening, Moran said. Police did not identify the women. One of the victims was stabbed in the back, while the other received stab wounds to her lower back and right arm, police Sgt. Tim Doney said. Jennings and his wife had been arguing with the women at the tavern before the alleged assault occurred, police said. A judge set Jennings’ bail at $100,000, according to court records.
