General contractor Adroit Construction oversaw the project, replacing the original aqua-colored siding, and installing a new heating and cooling system to the 54-year-old, 10-story, 395,000-square-foot building perched on top of Barneburg Hill. The project began in August of 2014 and was originally estimated for completion by March of 2016. Construction began on the first of the Manor's towers In June 1958, the cost of construction was estimated at $5.79 million, including land, roads, utilities, architect and engineering fees, as well as landscaping. The building was completed in 1961. Hotel revenues, demand show rise Southern Oregon motel and innkeepers saw across-the-board improvements during September, according to figures compiled by Smith Travel Research of Hendersonville, Tenn. Revenue per available room, considered a key metric in the lodging industry, saw a 10.5 percent gain to $68.42 in September. For the year, revenue per available room is up 9.4 percent to $57.34. Occupancy was 72.3 percent in September, a 2.6 percent gain. Room rates were 7.6 percent to $94.66, demand rose 3.4 percent, and revenue grew 11.3 percent to more than $17.1 million. Kaleidoscope breaks $5M in annual sales Kaleidoscope Pizzeria & Pub of Medford moved up five spots to No. 43 in Pizza Today's Hot 100 Independent Pizzerias annual sales survey. The pizzeria on Crater Lake Highway, operated by Jake Allmaras, Kristi Haavig and Ben Allmaras, logged annual sales of $5.055 million, up from just over $4.6 million a year ago when it ranked No. 48. Only one other single-location pizzeria topped Kaleidoscope, Piece Restaurant in Chicago, which produced sales of 6.8 million, good for No. 27. The only Oregon pizza shop to top Kaleidoscope on the independent list was Sizzle Pie of Portland, whose $7.5 million in sales ranked No. 23. RCC career skills info session set GRANTS PASS — An informational session for Rogue Community College's Individualized Career Training Department is scheduled Wednesday Nov. 18. Anyone interested in learning new career skills through individualized, on-the-job training, also known as Occupational Skills Training, runs 1-2 p.m.in Building Z, 3345 Redwood Highway. New training options are added on a regular basis and staff may be able to custom-design a training program related to individual students' specific interests. OST is a state-approved, one-year certificate program. It uses the community as the classroom for hands-on learning in a variety of career fields chosen to extend offerings while not overlapping with other RCC programs. Asante group gets innovation award Primary care and medical specialty group Asante Physician Partners has a earned a national award for its revamped patient registration process. The American Medical Association and the Medical Group Management Association Practice Innovation Challenge Award presented the award. New patients are registered by telephone or in person, completing more than 90 percent of patient registration prior to appointments. Previously, just 18 percent of the information was compiled prior to the first appointment. In the past, health care providers often completed patient registration during patient visits, said Bruce Budmayr, business development manager for Asante Physician Partners. Asante Physician Partners was one of five winners out of more than 70 universities and health-care systems in the competition. A $10,000 prize will go toward implementation of new patient registration at nearly 20 other Asante Physician Partner practices.
