Detectives ask for tips in Eagle Point toddler's death By Kaylee Tornay of the Mail Tribune Aug 07, 2019 10:41 AM A A An Eagle Point toddler died Monday night for reasons that remain unknown, according to a news release from Eagle Point police. The 911 caller reported at 3:24 p.m. that a 2-year-old girl at 233 S. Shasta Ave., #63, was not breathing and being given CPR. The girl was unresponsive when police and Fire District 3 personnel arrived, and was transported by Mercy Flights ambulance to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. She died at the hospital later that evening. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office detectives are assisting with the case. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office tipline at 541-774-8333. The cause and manner of the toddler’s death have not been determined the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office plans to conduct an autopsy Thursday, the release said.
