Downtown rollover causes minor injuries Mail Tribune / Jim Craven Medford firefighters talk to Linda Leak of Merlin, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee that was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Eighth Street Saturday. Leak and her passenger, Carolyn Boles, sustained cuts and bruises. Two women escaped serious injuries in a rollover car crash that left them trapped inside a Jeep Cherokee Saturday afternoon. Linda Leak of Merlin was driving her Jeep east on Eighth Street in Medford when a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling north on Riverside Avenue broadsided her car shortly after noon. The force of the crash pushed Leaks car onto its side before it slid into a utility pole at the northeast corner of Riverside and Eighth. Medford firefighters extricated Leak and her passenger, Carolyn Boles of Medford, from Leaks car. Both women sustained cuts and bruises. The driver of the pickup, James Williams, of Medford, had similar injuries. Medford police said Williams admitted he ran a red light before his truck smashed into Leaks car. Officers cited Williams for failing to obey an electronic traffic control device.   Mail Tribune Home | Ottaway Newspapers, Inc. | Dow Jones & Co., Inc. | Privacy | Contact Us Copyright 2000 Mail Tribune, Inc.
