The Mustangs grabbed a 10-4 first-quarter lead and held a one-point advantage at halftime. But the Cougars rallied in the second half for a 45-30 victory. "(Hidden Valley) was really prepared for us," said Illinois Valley first-year coach Lacey Madden. "That was good. We liked the challenge. Our girls had great composure and showed what IV basketball is all about." Junior post Sheena Cole and senior point guard Emily Dudley sparked the comeback. Cole had 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Dudley contributed 15 points. "They put a lot of pressure on Emily (Dudley), so Sheena Cole rose to the challenge and showed she is someone to be reckoned with," said Madden. The Cougars won the battle of the boards, with Sarah Houston grabbing nine rebounds and Leilani Tausaga pulling down seven. Advertisement "We exploited their help side," said Madden. "We were able to execute lobs into Sheena (Cole) and Sarah (Houston)." HIDDEN VALLEY (30) — J. Richardson 6, Swanson 2, Matson 4, Silva 5, Wicks 3, R.
